Colleges Want to Meet You! Therefore, if you are interested in attending the DeKalb County Probe College Fair, which will take place Friday September 22, 2023. You must complete the following three steps to attend: 

  1. Download, print and have your parent/guardian sign the permission slip. 
  2. Return the completed permission slip to Ms. Jackson in the Counseling Office by Monday, September 18, 2023. 
  3.  Review the attached flyer and register for this event.

Real Talk is not your traditional college fair. This series is intentionally designed to feel informal, authentic, and, most of all, real. In this virtual environment, we're committed to creating pathways for Black students to meaningfully engage with colleges and universities.
 
 We're thrilled to launch our spring series in partnership with College Board's A Dream Deferred™ Conference. Join us for a special, two-night Real Talk: HBCU Edition on Wednesday, March 3, and Thursday, March 4. Your students will have an opportunity to connect with admissions representatives from the best HBCUs in the country and get questions answered in real time. We'll cover topics such as financial aid, scholarships, academic offerings, career paths, student organizations, Greek life, housing, and more!

  • STEM for Every Child, Inc. is awarding five, $1,000 scholarships to graduating seniors who are pursuing a degree in a STEM-related field. The scholarship may be used for tuition, room and board, books or any related educational expense. 

     

    Eligibility Requirements:

    -A minimum 3.0 GPA or higher is required.

    -Applicant must be currently enrolled at or planning to attend a university or community college, graduate school program, distance-learning school program, vocational or trade school for Fall of 2021.

     

    The scholarship application window is open from January 30, 2021-April 30, 2021.

    Scholarships will be announced by May 31, 2021.

**The Pitts Scholarship Academic Competition at Andrew College is a full-ride scholarship opportunity awarded to 2 students every year. The only requirement to compete is full acceptance to the school as well as a 3.0 GPA or higher. The first competition date will be virtual and take place Tuesday, November 17th!

  • The Barbara Lewis King Scholarship Foundation(BLKSF) presents the first in its series of College Workshop " Navigating FAFSA ": Saturday Oct. 31, 2020 11A.M.-1:00 P.M. EDT

Latino Youth Leadership Conference will be virtual on 1O/29 and 10/31. 

The Latin American Association presents the 21st ANNUAL LATINO YOUTH LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE | OCTOBER 29 AND 31, 2020 | A TWO-DAY VIRTUAL EXPERIENCE (see the Attached Flyer)LYLC 2020 Flyer.pdf

For the past two decades, the Latino Youth Leadership Conference has inspired middle and high school students from across Georgia to pursue higher education and follow their dreams. The LAA’s Latino Youth Leadership Conference is an inspirational and high-energy experience featuring motivational speakers, workshops and a  college fair. In 2019, the annual conference attracted 2,300 students, parents and teachers to Emory University. The Latino Youth Leadership Conference, now in its 21st year, provides Latino students with the tools they need to access post-secondary education, develop leadership skills and explore careers.

COVID-19 has changed our world and our approach, and we are viewing this as an opportunity to reach an even larger number of students, families and schools. This year, the Latino Youth Leadership Conference will be held virtually on OCTOBER 29th with a virtual kick-off event, followed by a college fair on OCTOBER 31st
