DCSD READINESS RESPONSE GUIDE

CLICK HERE to view DCSD's updated Readiness Response Guide 2021 (revised December 31, 2021) that aligns with the CDC's guidance published on December 29, 2021. DCSD continues to implement the CDC's mitigation strategies and other strategies to lower the risk of transmission of COVID-19 in schools. You are encouraged to review this information and encourage your family to adhere to the guidelines and protocols shared.

Instruction:

Teachers will provide Virtual Instruction. Teachers will provide the best instruction they can to students while taking the necessary safety precautions to remain safe. Because teachers will be providing instruction virtually, there will be a requirement at times when students will be required to log into MS Teams, Zoom, Google Classroom, etc. to receive instruction.

Students are allowed to use their own personal device. Please note, we cannot troubleshoot personal devices. However, if you prefer your child to have a student issued Chromebook, please email your request to Assistant Principal Dr. Damienne Denham, at [email protected] and she will schedule a time for you to pick up a device on Tuesdays – Thursdays between 9am-3pm. Please note that despite our best efforts, there may be technology glitches as we move through remote learning.

Schedule changes:

Faculty and staff may have personal situations that may prevent them from returning to the building to teach and/or prevent them from teaching remotely. This will require us to make changes to our master schedule. Therefore, your child’s teacher(s) could change as well as their class period(s) for remote learning. Nonetheless, schedule changes will be communicated to students and parents by the counselor and/or SLC Administrator.

Breakfast/Lunch:

We are allotting time within our Virtual Schedule for Breakfast and Lunch each day. If you need breakfast and lunch, King High School is a feeding site for students who need access to meals. Please drive through our school bus lane during the hours of 10pm – 1pm.

Thank you,

Michael Alexander . Principal
