A Special Message from PTSA President Dr. Thomas Smith
Dear Martin Luther King, Jr. High School Community Family
Welcome to the 2016-2017 school year. This is an exciting time for all students, parents, and teachers as we begin another year of exciting adventure in educating our students to take their place as productive and contributing citizens in American society.
Our school is named after one of the great America heroes who was a strong believer in quality education for everyone. Dr. King believed that education would enable a person to become more efficient and to achieve the legitimate goals of their life. The New Martin Luther King Jr. High School PTSA is committed to following the example and teachings of Dr. King by advocating and supporting programs, resources, and services that will enrich and maximize the education of every student.
“It takes a whole village to raise a child” is not just an African saying, but a true reality of life. It takes the tripod of education: students, teachers and parents working together for the next generation of productive, successful citizens of America.
As President of your New Martin Luther King, Jr. PTSA, I invite you to join with me and the PTSA Leadership by becoming a PTSA member and advocate in this journey. We need your help. We need your support. We need you to be part of the team to advocate, make a difference, build for the future and help make Martin Luther King, Jr. High School the premier high school in DeKalb County.
I appreciate your willingness to participate and follow the example and teachings of Dr. King by dedicating a small portion of yourself to the service of others. Thank you for your support!
