Dekalb County Schools

Thompson

I am a native of the Atlanta suburbs, and I matriculated through the DeKalb County School System from 1st- 12th grade. Upon graduating from Lithonia High School, I attended Tennessee State University in Nashville, TN. I received my master’s degree from Ashford University in Curriculum and Instruction.

I now serve as the new proud Assistant Principal at Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. HS, where we are committed to the promise of every student. I have worked in education for over a decade with The DeKalb County School District, and have served in a variety of roles within the district. My career began as a testing para-professional in 2005 and from there, being able to support students with a variety of exceptionalities over the course of this career. In addition to serving as an Instructional Support Specialist, Economics, AP Microeconomics, & IB Econ instructor, I was the former Junior and Senior Class sponsor at Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. HS. An avid learner, my belief is in preparing students to be globally competitive by focusing on the whole child, and being committed to the promise of every student.
