Thalia Watson

Mrs. Thalia Watson

My name is Thalia J. Watson and I am pleased to serve as Assistant Principal of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. High School. My educational background began with an undergraduate degree in Speech Communications from Clark Atlanta University. I obtained my Master’s Degree from Troy University in Educational Leadership. As a result of my love and innate desire to help teachers function at their greatest potential, I also obtained my Teacher Support Specialist Endorsement. This is my 33rd year in education. 13 of those years were as a High and Middle School English teacher. I am a born leader and nurturer. I have a heart for kids and a compelling desire to assist them in functioning as self- actualized individuals. My educational philosophy is that all students have the ability and right to learn. As educators, we must holistically meet each child where they are and identify the tools to assist them in being successful. I have committed 32 years of my life to this process.

I have been married for 26 years and I have one daughter who is a recent graduate from Georgia Southern University in Information Technology.
